The listening section of the Pearson Test of English (PTE) exam consists of 8 different types of questions that test your ability to understand spoken English. The 8 types of questions are:
- Summarize Spoken Text: This task requires you to listen to a short audio clip and then summarize the main points in one sentence.
- Multiple Choice, Single Answer: This task involves listening to an audio clip and selecting the correct answer from a list of options.
- Multiple Choice, Multiple Answer: This task involves listening to an audio clip and selecting one or more correct answers from a list of options.
- Fill in the Blanks: This task requires you to listen to an audio clip and fill in missing words in a transcript of the spoken text.
- Highlight Correct Summary: This task requires you to listen to an audio clip and select the correct summary from a list of options.
- Select Missing Word: This task requires you to listen to an audio clip and select the missing word from a list of options.
- Highlight Incorrect Words: This task requires you to listen to an audio clip and identify the words that are incorrect in a transcript of the spoken text.
- Write From Dictation: This task requires you to listen to an audio clip and write down the exact words you hear.
