PTE Exam Preparation Tips

If you’re looking to prepare for the PTE Academic, we recommend you start preparing in the right way. To help you prepare in the right way, here are some tips to keep in mind:

  1. Get plenty of rest. It is essential that you are well rested before the test. Try to get a good night’s sleep and avoid heavy meals in the evening, such as spicy food or rich desserts.
  2. Stay hydrated. This will help you to stay alert and focused on the test.
  3. Take practice tests before taking the real test. This will help you to get used to the format and time limit of the test.
  4. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the test starts. Make sure that you arrive at the testing centre early enough to get familiar with the surroundings.
  5. Have a good breakfast before taking the test. It’s not a good idea to take the test on an empty stomach.
  6. If you are taking the test in a computer-based testing center, make sure that your computer is working properly before the test starts. Check the mouse, keyboard and screen. If you have any problems with your computer during the test, tell a proctor immediately.
  7. Don’t panic if you don’t know the answers to some questions. Remember, this is an integrated test, and you will have many opportunities to increase your score.

What to expect on the test day?

When you arrive at the test center, you will need to verify your identity and provide your biometrics details. Therefore, you should not forget to bring an acceptable ID, usually a passport, for the smooth functioning of the exam formalities. You will then be given a locker where you should put your belongings. Once you complete these, you will be taken to a waiting room. Since these activities take some time, you are required to arrive at least 30 minutes before the test, to check in and pass security.

There is no need to bring any materials with you to the test center, except for your identification card and proof of residency (if you are taking the PTE in Malaysia). The proctor will give you a number after you register, which corresponds to your seat. You will receive this number when your registration is complete.

If you experience any problems during or after testing, please contact the Test Center staff immediately.

Conclusion:

To sum up, it is important to remember that the PTE Academic is one of the most difficult exams out there. However, with proper preparation, you can achieve great results! Good luck!
